Pencil Skirts and Boucle

Above: Vintage skirt c/o ModCloth, Miu Miu heels, Banana Republic necklace, Asos clutch, This outfit almost looks like a more appropriate entry for my Mad Men Mod contest from a few months ago then a date night outfit with husband. I was clearly channeling the 60's when I put everything together- pencil skirt, mary janes, and of course a boucle jacket with a modern twist.
The jacket is a new local designer discovery, Kelly Piekarski, (designers Kelly Kellon and Diana Piekarski) who recently launched their line and site. Their designs are fun, modern, and full of thoughtful detailing- totally on trend. This jacket was one of my favourites, fitted and flirty with the ruffle like bottom.
The skirt is actually vintage, via the ModCloth/Swapaholics event back in September. I love the high waisted top and slim cut (as did husband who gave this look a thumbs up). ModCloth is my type of vintage, where they literally hand pick the best items for you to choose from. Note to self, the vintage items are definitely cut a lot slimmer than modern sizing....I wouldn't dream of squeezing into this number post Thanksgiving, which was marked a 6 and definitely fit like a small 4! And, now I am off to hit the gym.
