I was first introduced to Lizzie Fortunato gems via the South End's dearly departed shop Looc. Seriously one of the most missed stores in Boston. Owner, buyer, arbiter of all this timeless and chic, Audra introduced me to a bevy of new lust worthy designers and kept me stocked on my perennial favourites.
One of my greatest regrets was never picking up some of the stunning pieces she featured by the sisters Fortunato.
The Lizzie Fortunato line is is based out of NYC, designed by Elizabeth Fortunato, and operated by her twin sister Kathryn. They have collaborated with the likes of VPL, Suno, and you may remember their rad partnership with Madewell a few years ago (which you can see in action on the blog here).
The baubles are statements, one of a kind, eclectic and always cutting edge. The same can be said of their latest collection for spring, which features sharp geometrics, shark teeth, deco inspired enamel and feathers all living in riotous harmony. A cross between Downton Abbey and futuristic nomadic tribe. Number one on my list? On of the chic clutches, part of their burgeoning line of handbags. These look to be just about right for an iPad, or a a night out. And if it can pull double duty, I can totally rationalize the expense, right?
My biggest dilemma is finding a place that stocks all these beauties....
