Summer Essential: Persifor

Haven't heard of Persifor? I predict you will. Brand founder Alexandra Thompson has worked for the likes of Lily Pulitzer and J Crew honing her preppy chic style (file under: PERFECT for New England) and has now launched her own line, Persifor.
I was lucky enough to meet Alexandra a few weeks ago at a Boston based Persifor preview and immediately knew this line was going to be a hit. I promptly ordered up my favourite dress, the Haist, in jaguar/coral, knowing it would be one of my go-to summer frocks. I love the cut, coral accents, and the fabric- wrinkle free, machine washable, and the ultimate in comfort on a steamy summer day.
Alexandra's dresses all bear family monikers (as does the the line itself, dubbed Persifor after her grandfather) and her designs bear creative and personal touches that just beg to be worn- be it for a fancy event or a day on the beach. Persifor can be found locally at Chatham Bars Inn and In the Pink, though you can now order everything online too.
I especially love the Artist Spotlight series, a seasonal collaboration featuring vibrant prints from artists you need to know about. This season's print came courtesy of Happy Menocal (who you might be familiar with from work with oh, such names as Jonathan Adler!), who delivered up the inspired "Ole" print (here).
I wore the Haist one shoulder stunner out for dinner with husband last week- topped with a jean jacket, it is low key sophistication. Flying solo and dressed up, it is wedding or cocktail party perfect. I love this new versatile piece and can't wait to see what this lovely and talented designer has in store!
