Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

Mod mannequins, bearing bold print by Cavalli, a cool blue sheath dress by Rachel Roy, and jeans by J Brand.

Nothing gets shoppers' attention like a good sale!

One of the sale's most popular items, this tangerine leather bomber by Truth & Pride ($399.90 on sale, $598 post sale) is on the verge of selling out!

Shopping VIP area for Nordstrom loyalist members.

Plum, leopard, military button down from Equipment, parked next to the gorgeous leather sheath from Vince. Both of which, are bound for my closet some time soon.

Yes.....I think this will work!

This structured Elliot Lucca (on sale at $178.90/goes to $268 after the sale!) bag hits all the right points for fall- boxy, borrowing tassels from the guys, and the perfect shade of green.

Show stopping shoes via Vera Wang, the Royce bowed bootie will be on sale for $229.90,

but back up to $350 post sale!

Sale season is truly upon us and one of the must not miss sale events of the summer is Nordstrom's Anniversary sale, starting this week, Friday July 20th!  Shudder ye husbands and credit card statements, for we will not be denied! Nordstrom's Anniversary sale is NOT a typical clearance sale my friends, quite the contrary, it is oh so much more than last season's leftovers.

Nordstrom's biggest event of the year, I have heard tale that die hard fanatics plan vacations and special events around this show stopping promo. It is THE shopping event of the season on the west coast, where Nordstrom is based, with sprawling lines down the street on the big day. Never fear local fashionistas, you won't encounter that here, since you will be the first in the 'know", just fabulous deals for you.

For two weeks, starting this Friday, fall (i.e. brand spanking new!) merchandise will be on sale and ripe for the plucking. Run, don't walk. Prices go back to normal on August 6th. Fact, the best stuff will go fast, so get there sooner rather than later to plan your discount shopping strategy.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a pre-sale press event last night and I can report, the gettings are good with designer exclusives and deals up to 30% off for a limited time. Already a Nordstrom loyalist (members of the program get an early ticket to shop behind the curtained, exclusive shopping VIP area, say what!)? Then you have already been shopping these delicious fall items and add even more incentive for everyone else to get out there fast!

New fall apparel from the likes of Marc Jacobs, Rachel Zoe, Rag & Bone, Kate Spade and Rebecca Minkoff to shamelessly name drop a few of my personal go-to designers.

My favourite of the night, and the item I had a hard time leaving behind, was the gorgeous leather Vince sheath dress (see picture above with me clutching it). It's simply begging to be layered with this plum leopard print Equipment blouse (also above), some bright tights and bow topped booties from Vera Wang! Le swoon.

The sale covers a wide variety of price points, from hosiery, in lots of bright hues for fall, and reasonable purses, like the lovely structured tote above by Elliot Lucca, to the splurge worthy leather dresses by Vince, and vibrant prints of Cavalli. You can preview all these gorgeous items online via their catalogue (here). And don't forget, the anniversary sale also hosts a bevvy of beauty items with exclusive deals, shades, and gifts. Be on the look out for the killer, pun totally intended, nail shade from Dior Poison (a splendid deep plumb).

What are you waiting for folks!? Get shopping!
