This look is from our Antiques Roadshow outing a few weeks ago (here). I was outfitted for an urban antique safari- clearly.
My objectives: something comfortable (for a long day of walking, standing and waiting), neutral, and chic (in case one of my objects was interesting enough to make it on TV, I swear, the fashion on the Roadshow is almost as good as the objects found;).
Sadly, none of our objects were rare, valuable, or even TV worthy, but at least I get to share my planned look here. And a few more shots of the day from Instagram below.
I continue my search for antiques up at our family farm this weekend. I took in my latest and greatest haul, literally packing our SUV tight with finds. My mother is happy to clean out the attic a little and we are equally happy to have some aged articles for our new homes' empty rooms.
From the take- boxes and boxes of old books. I can't wait to sort through them and see what we have. Even better, they were all packed away in original Narragansett beer boxes, equally cool in their own right. Women's newspapers from 1908- I'll have to share some of the fashion tips and ads, silver beer steins, vases, and a cast iron book stand for a giant early edition dictionary. I wish I could shut myself away to sift through and clean all this, but alas, day job calls.
Have a fabulous week!
