Tadashi Shoji never fails to inspire and his Spring 2013 collection was no different. Never short on evening and red carpet worthy designs, this collection was bursting with bright colors, lace and even some ikat sprinkled in for good measure.
The looks were a reflection of the designers travels- with references from the Rose Bowl market in Pasadena, to Venice, Kazakhstan and even the Gobi desert.
There was also a playfulness to this season, not usually present, with flirty short hem-lines, lace shorts, and gauzy trapeze tops.
What ties the shows together is always the carefully curated music. Beach House was present again, as they were last year (see my post on SS2012 here), along with Sigur Ros, all perfectly timed for each transition and into the finale. Also included in the playlist:
"Myth" Beach House
"Hoppipolla" Sigur Ros
"The Choke" Austra
"The Alley" DeVotchKa
Visually stunning, audibly pleasing, fun for all the senses.
And because my seat and camera skills can't do the designs justice, more images below of some of my favourites from this gorgeous presentation.
