Rosemary Meyer Lemon French 75's: For the Hostess

My host/ess gift this year? Inspired by my latest cocktail, a rosemary & meyer lemon French 75.

Rather than arrive with the standard issue bottle of wine (been there, done that, will probably still do that), I'll be rolling with the ingredients for a signature cocktail. Great way to share the delicious cocktail cheer and help ease the bar tending burden for your hosts.

For holiday party number two this week, I will be armed with all the ingredients to make a few batches of this sweet, tart, flavor explosion.

Rosemary & Meyer Lemon French 75

Makes 2

Ingredients

1 meyer lemon

rosemary simple syrup

champagne, cremant, sparkling white wine of some kind....

gin

Directions

Rosemary simple syrup: 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, boiled, and allowed to steep with chopped rosemary (3-4 sprigs) for 15 minutes. Drain rosemary and store in a covered mason jar for 1-2 weeks in the refrigerator.

Mix juice from 1 meyer lemon, 1 jigger rosemary simple syrup, and 1 1/2 jigger gin in a shaker. Shake and strain into two champagne flutes. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with rosemary or a lemon zest.
